From 1998 to 2018, Jeanne was the director of the Psychology Department of Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka, Kansas, and a part-time facilitator for the Kansas Institute for Positive Behavior Support, providing behavioral support to children living in the community. She has held previous positions as the director of service coordination for Monaco & Associates, as a qualified mental retardation professional and as a staff psychologist for Kansas Neurological Institute, and as a research assistant at the University of Kansas. Currently retired, she remains vice president of Monaco & Associates.
Jeanne holds a BS in psychology from the University of Missouri in St. Louis and an MS in experimental psychology from Kansas State University.
Jeanne is married to Greg Monaco. They have two children, Eliot and Elise. Jeanne is a part-time event and portrait photographer.
Dave Skinner, M.L.S.
Dave joined Monaco & Associates as director in October 2011. He has worked in various capacities with people who experience intellectual disabilities for over 40 years, 33 of those at Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI), where he retired from his position as director of training and development and a member of the KNI management team. Dave also has experience consulting with a variety of community support agencies in the areas of staff training, behavior support, leadership, and organizational development.
Dave received a BA in psychology and a master of liberal studies degree from Washburn University.
Dave enjoys hunting, fishing, canoeing, attending concerts, cooking, and being grandpa to three beautiful granddaughters.
Tonya joined Monaco in June 2013. She moved here from Hays, Kansas, and is excited to be working as the lead targeted case manager.
Tonya has a BS in education from Fort Hays State University. She worked as a service coordinator for DSNWK for seven years, and she worked with KDOT on the transportation committee. Tonya also knows American Sign Language.
She loves to spend time with her family, cooking, gardening, reading, just being outdoors, and doing anything that is creative and fun.
Mary joined Monaco & Associates in June of 2020. She has worked as a paraprofessional for Marysville Public Schools in Marysville, Kansas. Mary grew up in the area of Lincoln, Nebraska, and moved to Marysville, Kansas, in 2011. She has always loved helping people and looks forward to the opportunities that Monaco & Associates has to offer.
Mary graduated from Liberty University with an associate’s degree in early childhood education. Mary will gain her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in December 2020.
Mary enjoys time with her family, which includes a husband of 15 years, two children, and three dogs. Mary loves to cook and read. She loves summer weather when she can spend time at the lake with friends and family.
Kim joined Monaco & Associates in April of 2020. Kim is a registered nurse and graduated in 2000 from the Bryan School of Nursing with a diploma in nursing. She has been in the health care field most of her life, starting as a candy striper at age 12 and continuing with many certifications over the course of 20 years. After many years of wanting to become a nurse, at age 32 she finally was able to achieve this goal. Kim’s experience includes hospital, home health, non-emergent transportation, and clinic nursing. She owned and operated a home health agency for eight years.
Kim has four children and five grandchildren (four boys and a girl) aged 14, 13, 13, 12, and 9. She enjoys watching their sporting events, concerts, and helping 9-year-old Annyiah with her Special Olympics participation. She says that there is not much time for hobbies but does enjoy gardening, family history, and just spending time with her family.
Adam joined Monaco & Associates in January of 2020. He graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in philosophy and religion in 1997. He also has taken graduate level courses in library science from the University of West Georgia and in elementary education from Kennesaw State University.
Adam is an Atlanta native who moved to Kansas in 2012. He began working for Valeo Behavioral Health Care in the crisis diversion services and in-home support services. He grew to care for and appreciate clients from all backgrounds, building on their strengths and learning something new from each one of them. Prior to working in the social work field, Adam had a broad spectrum of careers ranging from running his own business to working in public and private library settings, retail sales, and nonprofits such as the YWCA of NW Georgia.
Adam loves reading. Friends and family tease him about his ever-growing “Willson Library” of books that seem to follow him like a magnet. Adam loves animals, particularly Australian shepherds. He is an avid movie buff (sci-fi, comedy, etc.). He loves oldies music, jazz, classical guitar, and most of all rock-n-roll. Adam is married and very active with his faith and church.
Marvin joined Monaco in 2000. As the senior member of the service coordination team, he has witnessed many changes in service delivery. Marvin attended the University of Kansas, where he played varsity basketball.
Marvin has a daughter and a son who also enjoy hoops. He is very active with his children and coaches his daughter's basketball team, as well as his son's baseball, basketball, and football teams. Marvin enjoys fishing, hunting, going to sporting events, and working with his dogs.
Sharon joined Monaco & Associates in January 2020. She has over 30 years’ experience working with individuals who need assistance.
Sharon worked at KNI for 16 years.
She also worked for 10 years at Individual Support Systems. There she was a program manager of over 60 individuals needing assistance at different levels.
Sharon has three adult children - two daughters and one son. She has three grandchildren as well. Sharon loves watching sports. Some of her favorites are football, basketball, tennis, auto racing, and golf. Sharon is a die-hard Jayhawk fan.
Anna joined Monaco in November 2016. She graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2015. Anna has worked in the mental health field with children with severe emotional disturbances and as summer staff with a children’s psychosocial group for four summers. She also has worked with adults with intellectual disabilities as an attendant care worker.
Anna enjoys reading, painting, listening to music, and gardening.
Ashley joined Monaco in May of 2016. She has previous experience working with the elderly and developmentally disabled community as a caregiver. In more recent roles, Ashley worked for a financial company as a trainer and worked in the special education department at Washburn Rural High School. Ashley is working on her BSW degree on her way to becoming a social worker.
Ashley loves to cook, read and go on vacation. Her favorite place to travel is Colorado where she was born and raised.
Novy joined Monaco in May 2020. She was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the United States in March 2010. Novy completed her bachelor’s degree in commerce, majoring in banking and finance. This was completed at the Capitol University, Mindanao, Philippines. Right after graduation, she went to work as a band singer in Japan and several places in China for a total of seven years.
Novy graduated from Washburn University in 2019 with an associate’s degree in occupational therapy assistant. She will later proceed with a bachelor’s degree. She has three years of experience of working with mentally challenged individuals, working in clinics and the hospital floor.
Novy’s first love is singing. She also enjoys cooking as a way of de-stressing after working all day. She is an orchid enthusiast. She loves to garden, both flowers and vegetables. Novy loves to travel and never gets tired of meeting new people. She loves getting to learn new cultures and exploring different cuisines, and she also finds photography, sewing, and painting to be enjoyable.
Edith joined Monaco in May 2018. Edith was born in Cebu, Philippines. She graduated from the University of Mindanao where she received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She has five years of experience in management in different health care services for those with disabilities.
Her hobbies are fishing, gardening, traveling, and watching KU basketball games. Edith loves spending time with her husband and daughter.
Venson joined Monaco in August 2019. Venson graduated cum laude from Adamson University in Manila, earning a BA with a major in philosophy and a minor in psychology in 1992. He continued his graduate studies at Loyola House of Studies, a Jesuit institution of learning in Quezon City, Philippines. Venson earned his master's degree in pastoral theology (religious studies) in 1996. He came to the United States in 2007 as an exchange student under the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.
Venson received his hospital regency and training as a professional hospital chaplain in William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He continued his chaplaincy work in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Venson moved to Topeka, Kansas, in 2014 as pastor-in-charge of St. Augustine Anglican Church. Venson also worked for more than two years as a direct support professional.
Greg joined Monaco in November 2014. Previously, he worked at the Goodyear plant in Topeka, Kansas, for 25 years. Greg works in administration at Monaco & Associates. Some of his duties include billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, insurance, and payroll. He also performs a variety of confidential and complex administrative tasks associated with the business.
Greg was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He comes from a large family with six brothers and four sisters. He has four adult children of his own: two daughters and two sons. He became a proud grandpa for the first time in July 2016. Greg’s hobbies include putting on softball tournaments in Topeka for 40 years. In newspaper interviews, he was referred to, and is commonly known as, “Mr. Softball.” His favorite teams include the KC Royals, KC Chiefs, and KU. He has dabbled in the stock market and enjoys studying the financial aspects of mutual funds and stocks.
Eliot joined Monaco & Associates in December 2018. His work involves IT support, web development, and marketing.
Eliot has an MA in biological anthropology from Stony Brook University, where he studied behaviors and adaptations related to diet in nonhuman primates. His research has been published in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. Previously, he worked in theater and education in Chicago.
Mike Graber Director of Software Development and Support
Mike started with Monaco in May 2016. After spending 2 years playing football at Coffeyville Community College, he went on to graduate from Washburn University with a BA in psychology. He spent the next 13 years working full-time; counseling, tutoring, mentoring, and determining eligibility for welfare.
Over the last 20 years, Mike became technically involved with statewide projects implementing technical solutions with the goal of finding efficiencies to the way the State of Kansas offers support to its families in need. More recently Mike spent 3 years as an administrative assistant with tasks that defined how the state of Kansas’s 6-billion-dollar budget is accounted for. His technical skills include the ability to improve business processes using software development, database modeling, network design, and maintaining the operating system.
Mike has always put a priority on his physical health and spends most days after work with his wife in the gym. He is the proud father of a nursing student who also participates on the Colby Community College Equestrian team. Some of his time is spent driving to colleges in the surrounding states as his youngest child decides which college to attend. Mike is Kansas through and through and enjoys the diverse wildlife at the state’s public lands.
Lou Hoover, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Software Development and Support
Lou’s first career was as a clinical psychologist. Most of those years were spent on the staff of Topeka State Hospital where she eventually became director of internship training. When the hospital was closed by the State of Kansas, Dr. Hoover made an unusual career switch to computer programming. She retired from the State of Kansas Department of Administration as a programmer/analyst. Since 2001, she has been employed by Monaco & Associates in the IT department. After 15 years of software development, support and maintenance, as well as in-house tech support and network maintenance, she took semi-retirement. Leaving most tasks in the able hands of Mike Graber, she continues part-time software development duties.
Lou has a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Kansas. She has a BA in computer information sciences from Washburn University.
Lou and her husband Ralph have one daughter and one granddaughter. She enjoys reading, fitness, and gardening. She loves travel, especially visits with family.
